'Ahcee Flores' is newest target of net attacks (YAHOO NEWS)

'Ahcee Flores' is newest target of net attacks (YAHOO NEWS)

The earthquake in Visayas was the biggest story of the day. But an unknown Pinoy suddenly rose to online famefor the wrong reason.

Apart from the hashtags #PrayforPH and #earthquake as trending topics on Twitter Philippines, an unfamiliar name, that of a certain Ahcee Flores, was in the list too.

What did Ahcee Flores do?

Apparently, "Ahcee Flores" posted a comment in Yahoo! Philippines' news story about the earthquake and wished Visayans ill.

“Let us all pray……. Na matuloy ang tsunami para maraming bisaya ang mamatay, para mabawasan ang mga baduy sa pilipinas [I hope the tsunami pushes through so people from Visayas will die..so the outdated will cease].”

Immediately, netizens slammed the hateful comment "by Ahcee Flores", with hate pages against her all over Facebook.Meanwhile, some users have also mobilized and put up a page to throw in their support for the user.

User Anuelle asks her ‘Anong klase kang Pilipino!’ while Holly hits her by posting, “You're as ugly as the words you've spoken. If you can't take the heat for the things you've said, don't post it for the world to see.”

A user named Desan James Rosal meanwhile expressed his anger by posting this comment: “@ Achee Flores alam mo ba kung ano ang sinasabi mo? Pinag dasal mo ang aming kapahamakan dito...”

User Laurence on the other hand chooses to be passive by saying, “wag na lang pansinin walang magawa sa buhay kaya ganyan.”

Some users even posted threats against Ahcee Flores.

The outrage against Ahcee Flores isn’t just on Yahoo! Philippines but on Twitter as well.  @icekendy writes “Ahcee Flores must have had a very bad experience with a Bisaya in the past, thus turned her into this monstrous character we all see now” while @jrcastro_castro03 asks people not to give Ahcee Flores ‘the attention that she asks.’

@Posh_Post tweets “Ahcee Flores may be a really sad person” while @CHORVALoOo speaks her mind by posting “We were all scared to death from the #earthquake. Pero ikaw Ahcee Flores nakuha mo pang mgcomment na ganun about sa mga bisaya?! How dare u!” Meanwhile @JESUSGleek takes the high road by tweeting “Don't hate on Ahcee Flores. Pray so his/her heart may be opened :)”

The name Ahcee Flores is still trending on Twitter Philippines, as of 9:20 am Tuesday.

Username Ahcee Flores is not even answering any comments anymore. There are still however some more comments from Ahcee Flores and one of them says, “There is no God, God is a product of illusion from the people who started religion.”
Philippine blogs also took a shot at this issue, including one called "Brain Contour" which did some online snooping and have discovered the real name of the user.

Ahcee Flores Offends The Whole Visaya’s Region Of The Philippines

Ahcee Flores Offends The Whole Visaya’s Region Of The Philippines

This has to be the dumbest thing out today as Ahcee Flores makes some bold statements in insult to an entire region of the Philippines during an earthquake, hoping there is an Tsunami to kill Cebuano’s while she sits happily in Makati.
First captured image says :-
“let us all pray that there will be Tsunami so that many Visayan’s will die” so that there will be lesser Corny (meaning lower class or tacky people) people in the Philippines.
Second captured image :-
Don’t worry guys, if the Tsunami didn’t happen today we don’t have to worry there are still many chances of it happening, it will happen, Just keep on praying.
This moron is now no.1 for trending in the Philippines, well done Ahcee Flores you have swiftly made it to the number one spot as the most hated person in the Philippines within 24hrs. The fact is its obviously stirred up a very big hornets nest not only in the Philippines but outside.

Netizens #prayforVISAYAS, say down with 'Ahcee Flores'

Posted at 02/07/2012 12:47 PM | Updated as of 02/07/2012 12:47 PM
MANILA, Philippines -- Just like in last year’s Sendong disaster, a person wishing ill on others over a social networking site is trending locally on Twitter. However, higher up on the trend list is the hashtag #prayforVISAYAS, showing that for Filipinos, negativity is definitely not the “in” thing at this point.
A certain Ahcee Flores commented on a story on Yahoo! Philippines, “let us all pray….na matuloy ang tsunami para maraming bisaya ang mamatay, para mabawasan ang mga baduy sa pilipinas.”
The user, who specified her location as “Manila, National Capital Region,” also posted other negative comments about Visayas, further angering others.
A screen capture of the post has gone viral over social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Flores now has several hate pages on Facebook, and haters have flooded @ahcee_flores with mentions on Twitter, which she has stopped replying to since last night. @ahcee flores has not denied that she posted the viral comment, and her posts are still currently open to the public.
In late 2011, Pinoys were angered by Facebook posts against victims of typhoon “Sendong.”
The posts were supposedly written by a certain Celine Acut, a Filipino living in France, and a certain Van Carumba, a Cebu native living in the United Arab Emirates.

Turning to social media

Social media has played a large role in keeping Filipinos up to date on yesterday’s magnitude 6.9 earthquake, making it highly likely for anything related to the earthquake to trend on social networking sites.
Photos and videos of the quake as it happened, as well as of its aftermath, were posted on Facebook and Twitter and are still being posted today.
News updates were shared several times over on Twitter and Facebook, and government agencies and officials spread information via their social media accounts.
Netizens also warned others to be wary of what they believed about the earthquake, posting videos of people panicked by false reports of a tsunami coming to sweep them away.
As of posting time, three earthquake-related topics are trending on Twitter: #prayforVISAYAS, Ahcee Flores, and Negros Oriental.

Pacquiao vs Bradley and Mayweather vs Cotto: What's the Better Fight?

Pacquiao vs Bradley and Mayweather vs Cotto: What's the Better Fight?

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr are, as always, at the forefront of basically all boxing discussion. Though the two pound-for-pound standouts won't be facing one another, they have both signed up for fights that have a lot of people talking, and do present some challenge.

Pacquiao has agreed to terms to face Timothy Bradley on June 9, which was reported earlier today. Mayweather will face Miguel Cotto on May 5.
So what's the better fight? Which one are you most looking forward to?
Star-divide
Pacquiao's Challenges
Pacquiao_vs_bradley_medium
(Photos by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
  • Timothy Bradley is a really, really good fighter, the best 140-pound fighter in the world.
  • Bradley is clever, and not on paper tailor-made for Manny. He's not a plodder and he's not easy to hit.
  • Bradley isn't afraid to make a fight ugly, and he's good at doing so. Manny's not an ugly fight kind of guy.
  • Bradley, at 28, is absolutely in his prime years. He's a guy who stays in phenomenal shape year-round and is always ready to fight.
  • The risk-reward isn't equal here. Bradley's no superstar.
Mayweather's Challenges
Mayweather_vs_cotto_medium
(Photos by Ethan Miller and Al Bello/Getty Images)
  • Miguel Cotto is still a very good fighter, and his limited work with Pedro Diaz showed how smart of a boxer he can be.
  • Cotto will have an advantage on paper fighting at 154 pounds. Mayweather has only fought above 147 once, and struggled somewhat to defeat an aged Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. Floyd weighed 150 for that fight, which is said to be right about his everyday weight.
  • While Manny's 33 and probably showing some signs of age, Mayweather's going to turn 35 this month and definitely doesn't move the way he used to. His legs aren't what they once were. All great fighters get old, often very suddenly.
  • Mayweather's got a lot of other things on his mind. He'll be reporting for jail on June 1. Will that be a distraction for him? He's human, not an emotionless boxing machine.
  • Miguel Cotto is a proud fighter, a real champion no matter how bogus any title belts may or may not be. He's going to come to win.

What's the better fight, Mayweather vs Cotto or Pacquiao vs Bradley?

Juliet, 8-year-old rocker, becomes YouTube sensation for ‘My First Hardcore Song’

Move over Ozzy. An 8-year-old Australian girl has become an overnight sensation for her minute-long thrash-worthy YouTube debut — and she’s even impressing the hardcore pros.
Kristina Childs posted a clip of her 8-year-old daughter Juliet, a genuine head-banger-in-training, which has racked up 5.7 million views in less than 48 hours.
“Within an hour of posting the song, I just started getting thousands of emails,” Childs told the Daily News. “I was like what is all this?”
The video, using a track recorded for fun by family friend and record producer Rob Sharpe, was filmed at a local Brisbane park and meant just for family.
Once the requests started pouing in after it was posted, Sharpe converted the track for sale on iTunes. (“We didn't want it to be pirated, we just prefered if they could hear the real one,” says Childs.)
T-shirts are also now available.
Juliet, though, is already a jaded rocker. She was impressed when the number of views went past 300, more than the number of kids in her school — but then went back to playing with her toys.
“If I'm guilty of anything, it's playing too much music for it,” says Childs. “When she was a baby, she wouldn't go to sleep unless we would play Marilyn Manson or Slipknot, so it's probably programmed somewhere in her brain.”
So how did she do?
The Daily News enlisted the help of some heavy-metal royalty to review Juliet’s debut.

Dave Davidson of Revocation:
The internet can be a very disturbing and frightening place but every once in a while it can produce things that are downright heartwarming. Clocking in at just under a minute, "My First Hardcore Song" by 8-year-old Juliet is completely adorable and totally BRUTAL! This video's got it all, stuffed animals, real animals, trampolines and of course hardcore moshing. I also really dug the sincerity of the lyrics, Juliet isn't singing about political agendas or how tough she is, she just loves her dog Robert and her fishes damn it! Get your two-step on!
Rick Armellino of This or The Apocalypse:
I don't care what anyone says, this girl is rocking more charisma and going harder than about 98 percent of today's hardcore bands.
Tommy Victor of Prong:
Rebecca Black meets Harley Flanagan. Great! Are they auditioning guitar players for a tour? Where and when? My 7-year-old nephew wants to try out. Or maybe I should. A little bit of botox, who knows? Maybe I can be a star!
Oderus Urungus of GWAR:
I found myself imagining the little girl being torn apart by a Manticore. But I mean hell, it got like 8 million hits the second it came out, so there must be something cool about it.
Sal Abruscato of A Pale Horse Named Death (Life of Agony)
I love it; it was so good and the little girl did an awesome job fronting the hardcore vocals.
I will look forward to hearing more from Juliet
Tony Foresta of Municipal Waste:
This is pretty funny I guess but mostly it raises a huge concern. What would happen if this video gets even more popular with the kids and things start getting way out of hand. Like 3 months from now she has this huge hardcore crew of 7 year olds. You know, a bunch of little rug rats with sleeves full of temporary tattoos and bad attitudes rolling up to all the hardcore shows kicking everyone in the pits a--. Selling Now and Laters in the bathroom, tagging Unicorns all over the place starting beef with Madball and Agnostic Front. This could really spin out of control. Be careful out there!!!!

SINULOG FESTIVAL 2012

SINULOG FESTIVAL 2012

Everybody is pretty much aware the biggest occasion or celebration here in Cebu dated January 14 -15 which is no other than Sinulog festival. Absolutely, Sinulog festival sets jam-packed of partying, events and full package of scheduled activities. Most of the said date’s people are flocking, witnessing harmonious presentations within the city of Cebu. To be exact, Cebu entirely sealed to be a known place capturing the beauty of fulfillment. Undeniably, those events being mentioned above are the most unforgettable events that no one could ever refuse to go along with the massive surprises providing every angle of the streets bursting the nearly all amazing decorations, discos, bands etc.

"Challenge"

Yes it is, remarkable experienced. Yet, if you yourself eager to be “in” the Feast of Sto. Niño you can never wish to walk normally among the extensive compression of people side-by-side. No one being said to be excused in that very moment, ,,Cute Girls? NO! Still needs to undergo the squeezing momentum of that day, even babies brought by their parents,  sweating, struggling catching fresh air along the thorny and burning rays of the sun. Although it was considered incredible occurrence of experiences still stand-out to be the best day ever.
January 15, 2012, Cebuanos positively break out the pageantry of the festival in the midst of dazzling colors and dance along the parade route. On the other hand, dancers performed their best presentation at Cebu City Sports Complex not minding the hardships along the way before getting into the stage itself.
“FUNNY MOMENTS”
Understanding the event (Sinulog Festival), I myself go through those challenges which everybody experienced throughout the day. First, longing to get into the cord-line or the rope, just to pass by to the other-side. Luckily, I was able to do so , and that’s the start of my normal hiking which I did long - so much on that very day. Since I’m in, I didn’t wish to get out in that cord-line, because I know I’ll be getting so much trouble after all. What I did?..I was able to manage myself walking, acting like one of the staffs of Sinulog. That was totally fulfilling, and proudly enjoyed everything inside the cord-line (ABS-CBN Actors and Actresses Angelica Panganiban, Gerald, Melai, Ryan Bang  etc. (GMA -7, Ogie Alcasid etc and all the Participants -dancers.  Right after passing Jones St. I invited my cousins, Helbert Villaver, Charlito Villaver to get inside which we did. That was cool! .Of Course “TAPZ-VILL PRODUCTION” must be “IN” (JASON TAPZ, HELBERT, CHARLITO).

VIVAL PIT SENYOR!!!! :)

Black Nazarene – Procession ( Aquino Thanks the troops for safety)

Black Nazarene – Procession ( Aquino Thanks the troops for safety)

It has been the topical concern intentional to be alert of, of all the devotees of Black Nazarene in Manila. President Aquino uttered his inmost admonition to the terrorist who were targeting the bombing planned. Fortunately, it was done and ordered safety according to tighter security. Counting the attendees who flocked to Manila, 200,000 devotees-out of the estimated 8 million participants of the ever longest procession lifting up their faith amidst hardships along the way. It has been carried out news about the cutting of original route and to take a shorter way to Quiapo, as suggested by the higher security purpose (Police and Parish). On the other hand, crowd highly rejected the suggestion where devotees wanted to stick the original tradition.

President Aquino III who seriously announced and ensures the safety of all Filipino Devotees successfully found well attended and perform.
“This is a situation where we believe that the government acted prudently, acted promptly on credible threats," He Himself told the reporters.

"Absolutely to be corrected"

“It’s our task to slowly form and educate the faithful about their devotion and the right way of expressing such devotion that will not harm themselves and others,” said Msgr. Clemente Ignacio, rector of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo.
“We admit that there were elements or excess of fanaticism that needs to be corrected but we also saw from them yesterday the seed of their deepening devotion,” Ignacio said in a phone interview.
“I understand their very strong desire to touch the Black Nazarene. That’s their way of expressing their faith,” he said, referring to devotees who risked injury just to get near the image.

Reviewing of all the corrections must serve a learned reminder to every devotee. Accordingly, devotees need not to jostle their way up to the carriage just to touch the image of Black Nazarene. What matter most is to know their faith that touch their heart and understand how the Lord will touch them in a silent way.

Facebook 2012: Placing Ads In User News Feeds

Facebook 2012: Placing Ads In User News Feeds

Facebook will feature its Sponsored Story ads in users’ News Feeds per January 2012. This will greatly increase brand presence in Facebook. Mark and the rest of his gang did not meet their 2011 revenue targets and will have to show new revenues before Facebook’s expected IPO.

Sponsored stories are Facebook’s most buzzed-about ad product and carry the promise of high rates because they have the built-in endorsement of a friend.

They were introduced in January 2011 and currently appear on the right-hand column of Facebook pages, surfacing actions taken by Facebook friends around a brand’s content.
Mobile users won’t see any sponsored stories during the rollout, but Bloomberg reported that Facebook is planning its first foray into mobile advertising by late March 2012.
Sponsored stories in news feeds were cited as a possible route for Facebook to generate revenue from its 350 million active mobile users.
Like Google, Facebook wants to become the leading ad operating system for the internet. And like Google Ad Sense Facebook might next deliver sponsored story-like ads on third-party sites.
Even on TV shows streamed online. TV? Yes with over 800 million users worldwide, Facebook TV could be massive. So if you had great expectations of Social TV, so do we.
Facebook TV might be large scale version of Pseudo.com, the Web TV company launched by Josh Harris in already 1993. Back then, Josh and his Pseudo Station already had many Web TV Channels in the fields of Music, Art, Culture, R&B etc.
So I can really advice you to order the Award winning documentary We Live In Public. Great story about the brilliant but crazy visionary Josh Harris. You really might want to see this film, so check the trailer here…
With Facebook aiming for 1 billion users, Facebook TV with channels like travel, gaming, snowboarding, music etc, could easily reach and engage massive passionate global audiences.
So think nonlinear with me for a while. Facebook TV’s Travel station could reach and engage 50 to 100 million users a month. This would mean that lower budget travel and tourism companies can finally target that audience. On TV, a global travel or tourism campaign is simply for the very deep pockets only.
I understand that rights and IPR’s are a must have in several cases. And that great content will still be the king.
So if Facebook would start a F1 Facebook TV channel, a channel that could engage around 100 million Formula 1 fans, that would depend on the rights. But if the F1 freaks create part of the content, who could stop them?
And in many other cases we see so many topics and activities that could be massive of Facebook TV. How about a Facebook TV channel for Foodies? Or for cooking fans?
A Web TV channel for football fans or skaters? A channel for runners, powered or sponsored by Nike?
TV has mostly been local, expect for a few. And we have many other ideas on Facebook TV, which we might reveal to you in 2012…
And in Europe with have local languages and local cultures. And most media companies say this makes it international TV impossible. But what if the new world is flat?
What if Gen-Y does not care about the old rules of engagement that were once invented by old linear thinking men AKA Yesterday’s Media Moguls?
So most will indeedd see countries with borders. But a few of us might just see: markets with opportunities.
And Mark and the rest of his gang, might disrupt the future TV market with groundbreaking ideas. Based on nonlinear but very disruptive ideas. You might want to follow The Connected Society theory in the “the new” King’s Speech…

How do you see the development of advertising within global leading platforms like Google, YouTube and Facebook? Will we get more and more intrusive ads and pre-rolls online in 2012?
Will Web TV and Social TV offer brands some brand new opportinities to reach and engage passionate audiences?

Facebook 2012 Hacker Cup announced !

Facebook 2012 Hacker Cup announced

Facebook today announced open registration for its second annual Hacker Cup, an annual algorithmic programming contest open to engineers from around the world. Programmers will be judged on accuracy and speed as they race to solve algorithmic problems to advance through up to five rounds of programming challenges. The winner will receive the title World Champion for Facebook’s 2012 Hacker Cup.

"Programmers from around the world will be judged on accuracy and speed as they race to solve algorithmic problems to advance through up to five rounds of programming challenges," Facebook mobile engineer David Alves wrote.
Interested participants must solve at least one problem correctly in an online qualifying round that will take place on 20 January. Three subsequent rounds will follow on 28 January, 4 February and 11 February. The top 25 will then be flown to Facebook's headquarters in Palo Alto, California, for the final round.

There are indeed actual prizes to be won. The winner will receive US$5,000 and their name will be inscribed on the Hacker Cup trophy. The runner-up wins US$2,000 and the third-place competitor will receive US$1,000. Everyone else gets a prize, too. Competitors who rank from fourth to 25th place will be awarded US$100.

Last year's Hacker Cup got off to a rough start. Some users on the Quora social networking site complained that the contest's procedures were confusing and sometimes contradictory. The social networking giant had improved the process by the end of the contest, though, participants reported.

If you want to try the problems from last year’s qualification round, you can check them out here: Problems. More details and announcements will be posted at facebook.com/hackercup. You may also want to take a look at the FAQ as well as the Terms & Conditions.

Mayweather to Pacquiao: Step Up, Punk

Mayweather to Pacquiao: Step Up, Punk

                                                Related Content

Unbeaten US star Floyd Mayweather threw down another provocative gauntlet to boxing rival Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday, daring the Filipino icon to "Step Up Punk" in a posting on his Twitter webpage.
Mayweather hopes to entice Pacquiao into accepting his challenge to meet May 5 in Las Vegas in a mega-fight showdown between the world's top pound-for-pound fighters, one that boxing fans have wanted to see for years.
"Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see," Mayweather posted on Twitter.
The move comes as Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum is visiting Pacquiao in the Philippines to discuss who the Asian superstar should fight next and Mayweather awaits the June 1 start of a 90-day jail sentence on domestic violence charges.
Arum originally said that Mayweather was not among possible next foes for "Pac-Man", listing Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez, Puerto Rican southpaw and Americans Tim Bradley and Lamont Peterson as candidates.
But that was assuming Mayweather was going to serve his sentence starting last week. Instead, a judge postponed Mayweather's trip behind bars until after his already-booked May 5 fight.
"My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk," Mayweather also tweeted on Tuesday.
Pacquiao, who has won 15 fights in a row over the past seven years, has told Filipino media that he wants the opportunity to fight Mayweather to be a top priority.
Mayweather, who squandered a chance to make a fight with Pacquiao earlier by seeking extraordinary blood testing measures, hopes to add pressure upon Arum and Pacquiao with his Twitter challenge.
But Arum has ripped Mayweather's May 5 plan, saying he could secure $20 million more with the construction of a temporary venue in Las Vegas to stage such a long-awaited fight before more than twice as many spectators.
Critics see that and other moves as Arum wanting to avoid pitching Pacquiao, 54-3 with two drawn and 38 knockouts, against Mayweather, 42-0 with 26 knockouts.
Past near-deals for Mayweather-Pacquiao have fallen apart for years, sending Pacquiao and Mayweather against different rivals with similar results.
But this time, both fighters are coming off controversial victories.
Pacquiao, a 33-year-old southpaw, won a majority decision over Marquez last November, giving him two wins and a draw over the Mexican but none of them by such a margin that Marquez's claims he was wronged could be dismissed.
Mayweather, who turns 35 next month, won the World Boxing Council welterweight title with a fourth-round knockout of compatriot Victor Ortiz, but he landed the decisive blow while Ortiz was distracted after the referee had separated the fighters then said they could resume.
Should Pacquiao not be next on Mayweather's hit list, "Pretty Boy Floyd" has been mentioned as filling the May 5 date with either US southpaw Robert Guerrero, 29-1-1 with 18 knockouts, or Mexico's Saul "Cinnamon" Alvarez, the WBC light-middleweight champion who is 39-0 with one drawn and 29 knockouts.
